Loop 303 and its interchange with I-17 have served the North Valley for quite some time. Now big things are underway to accommodate growth in that area.
In partnership with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), ADOT is building a freeflowing I-17/Loop 303 interchange and widening Loop 303 between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway. While that's plenty exciting on its own, it's also the first project launched under Proposition 479, which Maricopa County voters approved in 2024 to continue a half-cent sales tax dedicated to transportation improvements.
Joe Heller, our resident engineer on this project, joins On the Road With ADOT this week to explain what's coming over the next two and a half years, including a flyover ramp connecting northbound I-17 with Loop 303. Spend a few minutes with Joe and host Doug Nintzel and you'll be up to speed on the first of many expansion projects coming to the Phoenix area thanks to Proposition 479.
A quick production note: After this week, we'll offer new episodes of On the Road With ADOT every other week rather than weekly.
