Move Over, AZ. It's the law, and it's a practice that saves lives. That's why ADOT marks National Move Over Day every year with patners including the Arizona Professional Towing & Recovery Association and the Arizona Department of Public Safety

State law requires motorists to move over one lane or slow down if it isn't safe to change lanes when driving by any vehicle with flashing lights pulled over on the side of any road.

This week, we're grateful to have a State Trooper on the podcast to not just explain the law but the white-knuckle experience of being stopped next to traffic. Sgt. Kameron Lee brings the perspective of someone who has patrolled state highways and who now serves as a public information officer.

Spend a few minutes with Sergeant Lee and On the Road With ADOT host Doug Nintzel and you'll have a better appreciation of the need for the Move Over Law and why it's so important to responders including State Troopers, tow truck drivers, ADOT personnel and those getting help from responders. You'll also get perspective on how State Troopers enforce this law.
