Driver License Training Provider
Overview
Driver license training provider means a business enterprise conducted by an individual, association, partnership, or corporation that educates and trains persons, either practically or theoretically, or both, to operate or drive motor vehicles; that prepares applicants for an examination given by the state for a driver license or instruction permit; and that charges a consideration or tuition for these services.
Regulations
Entities who request authorization to function as an Authorized Third Party Driver License Training Provider must complete a criminal-history check and comply with the department's requirements for insurance, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Process Overview
To begin the process, you will need the following documents:
- A completed Third Party Authorization Interest Form, 96-0151
- A business plan that includes these items:
- Business work experience
- Financial plan
- Marketing strategies
- Initial number of staff
- Delegation of tasks
- Strategic plan (goals and objectives)
- Location and hours of operation
Once Approved
After the Professional Driver Services Program reviews and approves the provider's business plan, the next step is the application process.
An application must be completed in full and must be signed by the individual, all partners or an officer of the corporation.
An application will be returned for incompleteness, noncompliance of requirements or improper fees. If your application is incomplete or incorrect it will be returned and you will have 30 days to submit a corrected application or it will be rejected.
