Custom Company Vehicle Plates

Arizona businesses may apply to create a custom company name or logo license plate for their vehicles. All vehicles must be registered in the company's name.

Eligibility

Who qualifies:  This program is available for company owned vehicles; fleet registration (fleet plates) is not required.

• Must have 25 or more company owned vehicles.
• All vehicles must be listed under the company's legal name

Plate Types

Two custom plate types are available; name plates and logo plates. Combination plates — name and logo on the same plate — are not offered. A company with 100 vehicles or more may apply for both types by paying the applicable design fee for each.

Company Name Plate

The name plate uses the standard Arizona plate design with the company's name displayed in place of the standard tagline.

Minimum fleet size: 25 commercial vehicles

Initial design fee: $4,000 (one-time)

Plate specifications:

• The company must provide a version of its name formatted to fit within the limit, including spaces and punctuation.
• A universal plate template is used — no custom background designs or color changes are available.
• Plate number personalization is not available – plate numbers are assigned by MVD.

Company Logo Plate

The logo plate uses the standard Arizona plate design with the company's approved logo displayed on the left side of the plate.

Logo files must be submitted by the company and approved by ADOT for readability, size compliance, and overall suitability before production.

Minimum fleet size: 100 vehicles

Initial design fee: $5,000 (one-time)

Plate specifications:

• The logo occupies the equivalent of one character position on the left side of the plate.
• The plate number field is 5 characters on trailer-sized and motorcycle-sized logo plates.
• Plate number personalization is not available – plate numbers are assigned by MVD.

Additional Fees

Plate Substitution Fee

A $5 per-plate substitution fee is charged when a company places a custom name or logo plate on a vehicle that currently has a standard plate.

The following scenarios are exempt from this fee:

• The vehicle currently has a special plate and the company is replacing it with a name or logo plate.
• The vehicle is newly registered and is being assigned a plate for the first time.
• The company is moving an existing name or logo plate from one of its own vehicles to another vehicle the company owns.

Postage and Mailing

Actual postage costs are collected at the time of order when plates are mailed to the company.

Disability Plates

If a company’s vehicle qualifies for a disability designation, standard disability plate rules and processes apply.
