Detour in place 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for concrete girder installation
SUPERIOR – The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan for overnight closures of US 60 between Superior and Miami for bridge construction work the nights of Tuesday, Nov. 17, and Wednesday, Nov. 18.
ADOT is closing the highway to install concrete girders on a project to replace the Queen Creek bridge east of Superior.
The closures are scheduled between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, to Wednesday, Nov. 18, and again Wednesday to Thursday, Nov. 19.
During the closures, eastbound US 60 drivers can use southbound State Route 177 through Winkelman to northbound SR 77. Westbound US 60 drivers may use southbound SR 77 through Winkelman to northbound SR 177.
Due to the roughly 75-mile length of this detour, drivers may want to consider planning travel before 9 p.m. and after 4 a.m. The detour is estimated to add an additional hour for trips between Superior and Miami.
Lane restrictions, speed reductions and a 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project. Oversize loads may be accommodated with advance notice.
