Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on US 60 near Vicksburg through Friday, Aug. 30.

The following restrictions will occur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 

  • US 60 between Vicksburg Road and State Route 72 junction will be reduced to one lane, with alternating traffic control via temporary traffic signals. 
  • A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
  • Note: Restrictions will be lifted on Memorial Day and Independence Day.

Asphalt paving is currently underway on the highway’s new northbound lanes as work continues to transform a 4-mile section of a two-lane roadway into a four-lane divided highway.

Crews have fully opened I-15 Bridge No. 1 to traffic over the Virgin River close to the community of Littlefield. The structure carries thousands of vehicles per day on two lanes in each direction
