This project is complete
Overview
Project Cost: $2,638,000
The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a rehabilitation project on several bridges along US 89 between Willow Springs and Cameron on the Navajo Nation (mileposts 471-483). Construction is expected to begin early fall and be completed in winter 2023.
The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of three bridges by rehabilitating the bridge decks, which is the riding surface that motorists drive on. Construction will take place on the following bridges: Five Mile Wash Bridge (MP 471-472), Moenkopi Wash Bridge (MP 477-478) and Wash Bridge (MP 481-482).
What to Expect
Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. No work is anticipated on weekends or holidays.
US 89 will be narrowed to one lane only at the three bridges with alternating north- and southbound travel. A temporary traffic signal and onsite flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. There will be no work taking place on the roadway between the bridges. ADOT advises drivers to plan for possible delays while the work is underway.
