Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate and improve the pavement surface, which will extend the life of the roadway and create a smooth riding surface for drivers. The work will include:

  • Replacing the top layer of pavement along B-40 through downtown Holbrook
  • Installation of ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps at 24 locations throughout the project area

What to Expect During Construction

When pavement work begins, B-40 (Navajo Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane in each direction overnight during the week in various locations between Crestview Drive and Joy Nevin Avenue. Daytime lane restrictions will be required for sidewalk ramp work. Sidewalk work is scheduled to take place weekdays between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Drivers will need to slow down and merge into the open lane when approaching the work zone. Traffic control may include the railroad crossing that will be controlled by on-site railroad flaggers.

Drivers should plan for extra travel time and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
