Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate and improve the pavement surface, which will extend the life of the roadway and create a smooth riding surface for drivers. The work will include:

  • Replacing the top layer of pavement along B-40 through downtown Holbrook.
  • Installation of ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps at 24 locations throughout the project area.

What to Expect During Construction

B-40 (Navajo Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane in each direction during paving work, which will take place overnights. Sidewalk ramp work will take place during daylight hours and require lane restrictions. In both cases, drivers will need to slow down and merge to the open lane when approaching the work zone. Traffic control will include the railroad crossing that will be controlled by on-site railroad flaggers.

ADOT will release more information on work schedules as it becomes available.
