Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is tentatively scheduled to begin a project in fall 2026 to improve the Duval Mine Road bridge over Interstate 19 in Sahuarita. This paving project will improve the roadway by removing uneven areas, creating a smoother driving surface on the Duval Mine Road bridge.

Project Elements

The project will include:

  • Making repairs to the roadway surface on both sides of the Duval Mine Road bridge
  • Removing and replacing damaged sections of concrete curb and drainage features within the project.
  • Repairing damaged sidewalks and sidewalk ramps
  • Adjusting uneven walkway pavers to create a smoother surface

What to Expect

  • Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction area.
  • Construction work is tentatively scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers.

Schedule

Construction on this project is anticipated to begin in fall 2026 and is expected to be completed in winter 2026. Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
