Project Cost: $1.6 million

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is currently working on a bridge rehabilitation project along Interstate 40 over 8th Avenue in Holbrook. Work on this project is scheduled to be completed by the fall.

Project Elements:

The project will include:

  • Replacing the existing bridge deck surface with a concrete-mix overlay. The bridge deck is the top-riding surface of the bridge that motorists drive on.
  • Installing new pavement markings and other related work.

What to Expect During Construction

Traffic on I-40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the 8th Avenue Bridge around-the-clock from mid-April through July.

Drivers need to be prepared to slow down and merge when approaching the work zone, drive slowly through the work zone and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.
