Project Cost: $176,080

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with Apache County, has initiated a safety improvement project at the following intersections in Northeast Arizona:

  • US 180A at CR 5020 (milepost 354) in Concho
  • US 191 at CR 2108 (milepost 417) in Nutrioso

Construction is expected to begin in September 2025 and be completed by the end of the year.

Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to improve safety at two highway intersections in Apache County.

The project will install advance-warning signs with solar flashers, oversized stop signs with reflective tape, rumble strips and Stop-Ahead signs with solar flashers at each location.

What To Expect During Construction

Most of the work will take place off the highways as signs are put in place. There may be occasional traffic impacts during construction. Work will take place weekdays during daylight hours. No work is planned on weekends or holidays. Drivers should slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
