Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a pavement rehabilitation project along State Route 260 between Linden and Show Low (mileposts 332-340).

Construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed in the fall.

Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the pavement and create a smooth driving surface for motorists. The work will include:

  • Removing and replacing the top layer of worn pavement along 5 miles of SR 260 from roughly Timber Ranch Road to Joe Tank Road (mileposts 332-337).
  • Performing spot pavement repairs along 2 miles of SR 260 from Mogollon Drive to US 60 (mileposts 338-340).
  • Installing new sidewalks and guardrail as needed, and installing rumble strips and new pavement markings.

What to Expect During Construction

SR 260 will be reduced to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel during construction. Only two miles of restrictions will be in place at one time. Vehicles will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car.

Work will take place overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.

No work is planned on weekends or holidays. Restrictions will be lifted each morning after work hours.

Drivers should plan for delays and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
