Overview

Project Cost: $8.4 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a shoulder-widening project along State Route 377 between Heber-Overgaard and Holbrook. The 5-mile-long project begins at milepost 8, about 13 miles north of Heber-Overgaard, and ends at milepost 13.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026 and be completed by the fall.

Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to add 5-foot shoulders along the highway as well as rumble strips to improve safety. The work will also include a fog seal pavement treatment of the road surface along with new signs and pavement markings.

What to Expect During Construction

  • SR 377 will be reduced to one lane of alternating north- and southbound traffic between mileposts 8 and 13 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
  • Flaggers will move drivers through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
  • Drivers can also detour around the project by using State Routes 77 and 277.
  • Restrictions will be lifted each day after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
