Overview

Project Cost: $1.75 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the White Mountain Apache Tribe, has initiated a safety improvement project at the intersection of State Route 73 and State Route 260 in Indian Pine. Construction is expected to begin in October 2024 and be completed by spring 2025.

Project Elements

The purpose of this project is to improve pedestrian safety by adding street lighting and new sidewalks on each side of SR 73 near the intersection with SR 260. Other work includes new sidewalk ramps, drainage extension, handrails, signing and other related work.

What to Expect During Construction

Most of the work will be off the highway. Drivers can expect intermittent shoulder and lane restrictions along SR 73. Business access to the Hon-Dah Casino and Resort Hotel and the Hon-Dah RV Park will be maintained throughout construction.
