US 93 Pavement Project: Placeritas Creek-Date Creek

Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a construction project to replace the worn pavement surface along a 16-mile section of US 93 north of the junction with State Route 71 in Yavapai County (mileposts 156-172).
Project Elements
- Removing and repaving the roadway’s mainline, shoulders and at designated paved and unpaved crossovers.
- Replacing bridge joints and seals and installing new embankment curb, drainage features and guardrail.
- Installing ground-in rumble strips.
- Restriping lane markings and other related work.
What To Expect During Construction
- Lane restrictions.
- Delays of up to 15 minutes.
- Reduced speed limit in the work zone.
ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment while the lane restrictions are in place.
Project Schedule
Work is scheduled to begin late January 2026 and be completed in 2027.
Schedule subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.
