The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a roadway improvement project in January 2026 along a 23-mile section of US 93 between Chloride and Kingman in Mohave County (mileposts 48-71).

Work includes
- Replacing the pavement on the roadway, shoulders and at designated paved and unpaved median crossovers.
- Reconstructing curb ramps and driveways to Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
- Replacing and installing new embankment curb, drainage features and guardrail.
- Making bridge repairs and replacing bridge barriers
- Installing ground-in rumble strips.
What to expect during construction
- Lane restrictions will be in effect throughout construction.
- Motorists should be prepared for delays of up to 15 minutes.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment while the lane restrictions are in place.
Project Schedule
Work is scheduled to begin Sunday, Jan. 18 through the end of December 2026. The first activities include guardrail removal and replacement, bridge repairs and ADA upgrades. Paving is scheduled to begin in mid- 2026.
Work will progress north of Interstate 40 along Beale Street with overnight lane restrictions from Alma Avenue to Betty Lane.
Schedule subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.
Restrictions and Closures
The following restrictions will be in place Sundays through Fridays beginning Sunday, Jan. 18 through December 2026, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m:
- Beale Street will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction from north of Grandview Avenue and continuing north to the Kingman Port of Entry (mileposts 71 to 64)
- Business access will be maintained.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
- A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place
