US 93 Sycamore Creek Bridge and Gray Wash Bridge Improvements

Project Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is initiating a project this fall to make improvements to the Sycamore Creek and Gray Wash bridges on northbound US 93 (mileposts 128-129). The project is located about four miles south of Wikieup.

Work includes

• Scour protections, which includes removing sediment such as sand and gravel from around the bridge abutments and piers.

• Removing the top layer of pavement from the bridge decks and replacing it with a new concrete overlay.

• New pavement markings and other related work.

What to expect during construction

Most of the work will take place under the bridge structures and will not impact motorists. 

• Work will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. 

• The speed limit will be reduced in the work zones.

ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Project Schedule 

Work is scheduled to begin in October and be completed in early 2024. Schedule subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.
