Overview

The City of San Luis, in coordination with the Arizona Department of Transportation began a project to reconstruct 5 miles of Cesar Chavez Boulevard between Escondido Street and Avenue E.

Project Elements

  • Reconstructing the roadway along Cesar Chavez Boulevard to a four lane divided roadway intersection channelization at intersecting streets
  • Construct drainage facilities
  • Install asphaltic concrete, signage
  • Install pavement marking, signals, lighting, and other related work 
  • Construction of an one-lane roundabout at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Escondido Street/San Luis Plaza Drive. 

Project Schedule

  • Construction will begin spring 2026 and is expected to take 2 years to complete. Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
