Plan for alternating lane restrictions on Interstate 10 in Tonopah beginning March 19
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for alternating lane restrictions along Interstate 10 in Tonopah beginning Sunday, March 19.
The following restrictions will occur nightly between 8 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.:
- Westbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between 443rd Avenue (milepost 90) and 403rd Avenue (milepost 95) beginning Sunday, March 19, and ending the morning of Tuesday, March 21.
- Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between 443rd Avenue (milepost 90) and milepost 100 (near Wintersburg Road) beginning Tuesday, March 21, and ending the morning of Thursday, March 23.
- Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between 443rd Avenue (milepost 90) and milepost 100 (near Wintersburg Road) beginning Sunday, March 26, and ending the morning of Tuesday, March 28.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
- A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
Contractors are scheduled to pave the shoulder of the road.
Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
