
Plan for daytime lane restrictions on I-10 in Tonopah Aug. 11-15
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for eastbound lane restrictions on Interstate 10 in Tonopah beginning Monday, Aug. 11.
The following lane restrictions will occur daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 11, through Friday, Aug. 15, for guardrail construction:
- Eastbound I-10 between Salome Road and Tonopah (milepost 90) will be reduced to one lane. Note: Motorists should anticipate a 1.5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
The following lane restrictions will occur from 3 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 15, for embankment curb work:
- North- and southbound Salome Road will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic control via a flagging operation on Friday, Aug. 15.
- An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
