Drivers should allow extra travel time, expect lengthy delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for north- and southbound lane restrictions on State Route 95 in Quartzsite beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, for paving and manhole adjustments.

The following restrictions are scheduled daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, and ending Friday, Feb. 21:

  • North- and southbound SR 95 will be reduced to a single lane between Main Street and Tyson Street.

  • The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.

The following overnight restrictions are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, and ending Friday, Feb. 21:

  • US 95 at the Main Street intersection will be reduced to one lane.

Detour: Northbound traffic may detour at Kuehn Street to either Riggles Avenue or Quartzsite Boulevard, then head north to Main Street. Southbound traffic may detour at Sunrise Street then head south at Plymouth Avenue, or at Cowell Street and then head south at Johnson Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Main Street may travel north on Plymouth Avenue then west on Sunrise Street. Westbound traffic on Main Street may travel north on Johnson Avenue then east on Cowell Street.

Long delays are likely, so travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
