Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on US 60 near Vicksburg for chip seal and striping work.

The following restrictions will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 16, and ending Friday, Sept. 20.

East- and westbound US 60 between Vicksburg Road and the State Route 72 junction will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic control via flaggers.
The US 60/Vicksburg Road junction roundabout will be restricted in all directions. Note: Motorists should be prepared to stop and obey flaggers to move through the roundabout.
A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.

Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is repairing the pavement on US 60 between Vicksburg Road (milepost 45.72) and State Route 72 junction near Vicksburg. The work consists of removing the existing pavement surface and replacing it with new asphalt concrete.

Project Schedule

The project is scheduled to begin spring 2024 with completion anticipated fall 2024. Schedules are subject to change because of weather and other unforeseen situations.

What to Expect

Work is scheduled to occur weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., though some night and/or weekend work may be required.

Drivers are asked to obey posted speed limits, traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
