UPDATE: Plan for north- and southbound lane restrictions on US 95 near Yuma beginning Sept. 16
This advisory updates the paving work hours
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for alternating lane restrictions on US 95 near Yuma.
The following lane restrictions will occur weekdays from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 16, and ending Friday, Sept. 27, for paving.
- North- and southbound US 95 will be reduced to a single lane between Aberdeen Road (milepost 47) and milepost 54 (near Castle Dome Road).
- A 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
- Motorists should anticipate a 2-mile lane closure as workers move through the work zone.
The following lane restrictions will continue to occur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through late January 2025, for bridge deck work.
- North- and southbound US 95 will be reduced to a single lane between mileposts 52 (tank crossing area) and 54 (near Castle Dome Road), with alternating traffic control, via a temporary traffic signal. Note: Flaggers, a pilot car, and Arizona Department of Public Safety personnel will direct motorists through the work zone as needed between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
- An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
Note: Flagging operations will be lifted on Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans’ Day. Restrictions will also be lifted from Wednesday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday, and from Monday, Dec. 23, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
Crews are scheduled to work on a tank crossing, bridge deck, and milling and paving.
Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
