The Arizona Department of Transportation is administering a federal project for the City of Cottonwood that will rehabilitate a bridge on Pima Street between North Second Street and Third Street.
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation is initiating a $818,000 project to remove and replace the existing top layer of pavement along State Route 89A from Glassford Hill Road to Coyote Springs Road (mileposts 322-325) in Prescott Valley. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2023.
The project includes the following:
- Remove and replace the top layer of pavement on north- and southbound lanes.
- Reinstall roadway striping and other pavement markings.

What to Expect
While the project work is underway, motorists will encounter alternating lane restrictions. One one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction throughout construction. Drivers should plan for possible delays while the work is underway.
Traffic Alerts
Update: Expect daytime lane restrictions to continue on State Route 89A between Glassford Hill and Coyote Springs Roads in Prescott Valley through Sept.15

As work resumes on SR 89A, the Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for ongoing lane restrictions along a 3-mile segment of State Route 89A in Prescott Valley through Friday, Sept. 15.
- Drivers should allow for extra travel time while the following daytime restrictions are in place from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. (northbound) and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (southbound) Mondays through Saturdays.
- SR 89A will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Glassford Hill and Coyote Springs roads (mileposts 322-325).
- SR 89A will be reduced to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between Coyotes Springs and Fain roads.
- On-site flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
- Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching and proceeding through the flagging operation.
- Expect delays on access ramps for up to 15 minutes. Please use alternate routes.
- There will be a 14-foot vehicle width restriction, and the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
The restrictions are needed so crews can remove and replace the existing top layer of pavement on the north- and southbound lanes.
