Integrated Design-Build (IDB)

Integrated Design-Build (IDB)

Integrated design-build (IDB), also known as progressive design-build, is a delivery model that combines the benefits of Design-Build (DB) and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). Like a CMAR, there is early contractor involvement, pricing negotiation occurs for final design and construction in the preliminary design phase. Like DB, design liability and construction responsibilities are transferred to a single DB team starting with the preliminary planning and design phase through construction completion.
