The 10 most popular specialty license plates in Arizona for 2024

With over 100 designs to choose from, many Arizonans opt to adorn their vehicle with a specialty license plate to show support for their favorite sports team, local organization or charitable cause.

Each specialty license plate costs $25 initially and annually, $17 of which goes to organizations helping to make a positive difference in Arizona. To see all the available designs and the causes they each support, visit azmvdnow.gov.

About 871,000 specialty license plates were ordered or renewed during the 2024 calendar year. And each year, we like to tally up which were the most popular among Arizona drivers.

Here are the 10 most popular specialty license plates in Arizona for calendar year 2024:

While the top seven spots on the list have remained consistent, the last three spots on the list saw changes over the past few years.

The Empower specialty plate, which supports charitable organizations that serve veterans and military families, was released in October 2023, but has already become popular enough to join the list. And the Supporting Arizona Education specialty plate, which provides scholarships and grants to eligible teachers and students to fund continuing education, moved up one spot on the list in 2024.

Three new specialty plates were made available in 2024:

Phoenix Rising Football Club, which provides soccer programs to K-12 students whose families have financial challenges.
Rotary International, which supports the Rotary Clubs of Arizona and its projects.
Hualapai Tribe, which supports programs related to health, recreation and education in the Hualapai community.
