PODCAST: Catching you up on projects and more in Northern Arizona

There's been a lot of interest in our project creating an I-17 wildlife overpass south of Flagstaff. But that's just one of many ADOT projects improving highways in Northern Arizona. 

That's why we this week's episode of On the Road With ADOT features Jeremy DeGeyter, Administrator of ADOT's Northcentral District. Jeremy talks with host Doug Nintzel not just about the wildlife overpass but the much-anticipated Lion Springs widening of SR 260 east of Payson, which is scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2026, among other topics. 

Jeremy also discusses the challenge of maintaining highways in an area that sees more freeze-thaw cycles than any other. That frequent contraction and expansion makes road surfaces more susceptible to cracks that can be exacerbated by snow, rain and heavy traffic after winter storms.
