Roadway Design Standards and Guidelines

Roadway Design begins with the scoping phase of the project. Roadway provides Predesign with comments and design solutions during the development of the Project Assessment. Roadway Design projects range from minor pavement preservation projects to highly complex grade and drains. During the Design phase for grade and drain projects, the Roadway Design Section is responsible for the geometric aspects of the construction project based on a previously determined scope.

Roadway Design Standards

The design standards team develops, maintains and provides technical support for the Roadway Design Guidelines, Policies, Standards and Procedures; Construction Standard Drawings (C-Stds); Design Detail Drawings; and all CADD-related configurations, standards, guidelines and training.

County Maps

The information in the links below was created to allow visitors to view existing county maps of the state of Arizona. The group that produced these maps was dissolved in 1995, and they are no longer being updated by ADOT personnel. Be aware that some of the routes have been redesignated to different route numbers and are not shown on these maps.

  • State by County
    • This map displays all the counties. Clicking a county name will open a detail map of that county. Each detail map is in a downloadable Intergraph .cit file format. Note: To see the maps in some browsers, please allow pop-ups on this page, and make sure that "Display PDF in Browser" is checked in Adobe Reader/Acrobat Preferences.
  • State by Route and Milepost
    • This map displays all the routes and mileposts in the state. Clicking a route or milepost once will open a detail map of that county. Each detail map is in a downloadable Intergraph .cit file format.
  • State Map (.cit file)
