Groundwater and Drinking Water Information

ADOT is committed to ensuring that our operations have minimal adverse impacts to the environment and are protective of public health.

ADOT operates numerous facilities throughout Arizona which have the potential to impact groundwater quality without proper design, constructions, operation & maintenance, and monitoring. Some examples of these types of facilities include: vehicle washes, drywells, and septic systems.

We also work diligently to ensure that our rest areas provide safe drinking water and proper sanitary services to the millions of motorists who use our highway system every year.
