You're in the right place if you're new to Arizona and need a Driver License, Identification Card, or to register your vehicle.
To get these, you'll need to visit us. We're the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division—MVD for short. We have offices statewide and there's no appointment needed.

Getting Ready for Your First Visit

Driver License/ID Card

You'll need to bring the following to your visit to get an Arizona Driver License or ID Card.
- Current Driver license or identification card.
- Proof of authorized presence in the U.S.
- Know your Social Security number (Social Security Card may be required to verify name changes). For the Travel ID (REAL ID) (Note: this is voluntary), you'll also need two items from a business, organization, or government entity showing current residency.

Vehicle Title and Registration

For each vehicle bring:
- Current Vehicle Title and Current Vehicle Registration
- Proof of Insurance
You may also need Emissions Testing. If so, complete it before your MVD visit.
