US 160 reopens east of Kayenta
ADOT replaces 80 feet of pavement, makes other improvements after storm damage
PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation has reopened US 160 east of Kayenta after making critical repairs to a flood-damaged portion of the highway.
Crews worked over the past week, including through the weekend, on drainage improvements, roadway reconstruction, new pavement and asphalt, and new striping for approximately 80 feet of damaged roadway near Dennehotso.
Crews will complete minor work items over the next two weeks, including permanent striping of the new section of road. ADOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay attention in work zones.
The highway was closed on Sept. 16 after heavy rain and flooding in the area significantly damaged the roadway.
