The Arizona Department of Transportation began a pavement preservation project on State Route 187 on the Gila River Indian Community in October 2025. These improvements include pavement preservation, shoulder widening and adding new turn lanes. These improvements will reduce congestion and improve mobility.

Every so often, we get a call about a dog or cat that has made its way onto the freeway. Not only are these extremely dangerous situations for the animals, it also threatens the safety of unexpecting motorists and the responders – often, ADOT crews – who attempt to rescue them.

That’s why one of the main goals of the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project is to enhance pedestrian and bicyclist connectivity within the project area.
