Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for east- and westbound lane restrictions and temporary driveway closures along State Route 72 in Bouse beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, for paving and striping work.

The following lane restrictions will occur Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Dec. 8, and ending Thursday, Dec. 18:

  • West- and eastbound SR 72 will be reduced to one lane between mileposts 20 and 30 with alternating traffic control via a flagging operation.
  • Note: Crews are tentatively scheduled to close driveways and turnouts adjacent to SR 72 for 45 minutes to an hour to allow asphalt curing.
  • A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
  • On Friday, Dec. 12, crews will progress through the work zone to complete striping work. This mobile operation is expected to be completed within two hours.

Delays are likely, so allow extra travel time. Proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction and law enforcement personnel and equipment.
