The Arizona Department of Transportation recently completed a safety study on State Route 89 between mileposts 276 and 278 in the community of Yarnell. The road safety assessment (RSA) identified potential safety issues related to roadway traffic and evaluated possible ways to eliminate or mitigate safety concerns for both drivers and pedestrians.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is initiating a project to repair and preserve the pavement along US 60 from Hillside Road to Black Eagle Road (mileposts 63 – 86) in the communities of Wenden and Aguila in Maricopa and La Paz counties.

Project Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration is improving the roadway along a 21-mile stretch of State Route 260 between Rim Road and Gibson Road (mileposts 282-304).

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration, has initiated a project on State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon that is expected to be under construction in early spring 2022 and anticipated to be completed in late summer 2024.

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation made improvements to the interchange at State Route 347 and Old Maricopa Road, north of the city of Maricopa. The $1.3 million project included installation of new traffic signals and construction of north-  and southbound acceleration lanes for traffic entering SR 347 at Old Maricopa Road.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is beginning work to remove and replace the existing top layer of pavement along US 93 between Moore Ranch Road and milepost 190 (mileposts 184-190) north of Wickenburg. The purpose of the project is to improve the condition of the pavement and extend its service life.
