Project Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Western Arizona Council of Governments and the city of Kingman, started construction in November to make street improvements on Andy Devine Avenue between 2nd Street and Ella’s Place (previously known as West Andy Devine Ave). This is a local city of Kingman project being administered by ADOT.

The project includes:

  • Removing the existing jog at the intersection of Andy Devine Avenue and 1st Street by closing the existing driveway for the Arizona Route 66 Museum and constructing a new concrete driveway for the museum that aligns with 1st Street
  • Constructing new median, sidewalk, and curb and gutter at the location of the existing driveway.
  • Replacing existing stop signs with new LED solar-powered flashing stop signs at four intersections and other related work.

What to expect during construction

  • Lane restrictions will be in effect throughout construction.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
  • Business access will be maintained and the Tesla charging stations via the museum driveway will not be impacted.
  • Construction-related noise.

ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, and slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment while the lane restrictions are in place.
