Reminder: Expect daytime delays through Thursday, April 25, on US 93 near Wikieup for paving project
Plan for extended delays
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on US 93 near the community of Wikieup to continue to expect daytime restrictions and extended delays this week along a 10-mile section of the highway.
The following restrictions are currently in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 23) through Thursday, April 25:
- US 93 is intermittently narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between Cedar Mine and Wikieup Hills roads (mileposts 120 to 130).
- Drivers should plan for extended delays and be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching and driving through the work zone.
- Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
- A 16-foot vehicle width restriction is in place, and the speed limit is reduced in the work zone.
The project elements include:
- Removing the top layer of the riding surface and replacing it with new pavement.
- Making spot pavement repairs, applying new pavement markings and other related work.
ADOT reminds drivers to watch for construction personnel and equipment while construction is underway.
