I-19 Irvington Traffic Interchange Improvements Project
Contents
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation is working to improve the Interstate 19 and Irvington Road traffic interchange. The project will reconstruct the traffic interchange to increase capacity and enhance safety by widening Irvington Road to three lanes in each direction and adding lanes to the I-19 on-ramps. The project is scheduled to begin construction in the summer of 2026.
Planned improvements include:
- Reconstructing the existing diamond interchange and adding a partial cloverleaf ramp at Irvington Road.
- Widening on-ramps which will accommodate future ramp metering.
- Installing traffic signals, lighting, signage and pavement markings.
- Constructing pedestrian and bicycle facilities on both sides of Irvington Road.
