Broadway Road in Tempe to close in both directions nightly (April 19-22) between 48th and 52nd streets 

PHOENIX – Motorists who travel on Broadway Road between 48th and 52nd Streets at night, should be prepared to take detours beginning Tuesday, April 19, through Friday, April 22. Construction crews with the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project will close Broadway Road in both directions for bridge work nightly from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

TUBA CITY, AZ – Drivers near Tuba City need to prepare as the Arizona Department of Transportation begins a project to rehabilitate the Moenkopi Wash Bridge along State Route 264.

The bridge, located two miles east of the junction with US 160 in Tuba City, will receive a new bridge deck as well as new approaches creating a smooth transition on and off the bridge. Work will begin on Monday, April 18.

TUCSON – Paving work will begin Monday, April 18, as part of a six-month project to improve a 5.5-mile section of State Route 77/Oracle Road in Oro Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The work will span the highway between Calle Concordia and Tangerine roads, where crews will remove and replace worn pavement. The $11.8 million project includes other improvements such as repairing the Canyon De Oro bridge deck, adding bus bays, installing new fencing and traffic signs, along with adding new curb, gutter and sidewalks in select locations.

SHOW LOW – With warmer temperatures returning, the Arizona Department of Transportation will resume repaving 11 miles of US 60 and SR 260 in Show Low on Sunday, April 10.

The projects, which started last summer, include repaving US 60, known locally as Deuce of Clubs Avenue, from milepost 336, just outside the Show Low city limits, to Adams Street. Crews are also repaving SR 260, known locally as White Mountain Boulevard, from US 60 to Wagon Wheel Road.

BISBEE – The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed the major elements of a $3.5 million rockfall mitigation project on State Route 80 northwest of Bisbee that will improve safety for motorists passing through the area.

The project involved excavating rock from slopes along SR 80 to create a wider “clear zone” on both sides of the highway to decrease the risk of debris landing on the roadway. The safety project is near the intersection of SR 90 near Pintek Road at milepost 334.

KINGMAN – As construction season in northern Arizona resumes, three bridges in the northwestern part of Arizona will be rehabilitated starting this year.

Along Interstate 40, ADOT will reconstruct the bridge decks on the bridge at Exit 123 into the east side of Seligman. The project is needed to replace the damaged elements of the bridges and to perform other upgrades to increase the lifespan of the bridges.

FLAGSTAFF – Beginning Monday, April 4, the Arizona Department of Transportation will improve the pavement on Milton Road in Flagstaff, creating a smoother ride for drivers and repairing years of winter weather damage.

The work will take place along Milton Road, also known as SR 89A, from Forest Meadows Street to Phoenix Avenue near Flagstaff City Hall - a distance of about one-and-a-half miles.

HOLBROOK – The Hermosa Drive Bridge over Interstate 40 in Holbrook will be rehabilitated beginning this spring by the Arizona Department of Transportation, thereby extending the life of the bridge for drivers.

The bridge will receive a new bridge deck, guardrails and barriers. The roadway approaches to the bridge will be improved as well. Drivers can expect daytime and nighttime restrictions due to the construction work.  In addition, there will be periodic overnight closures of I-40 during the project.
