Wait Times

Do I have options besides going to an MVD office?

Many MVD services, such as registration renewals, address changes, voter registration, license plate refunds, temporary permits and more can be conducted online — day and night, seven days a week — at your convenience. Visit azmvdnow.gov before you visit an MVD office.

MVD Authorized Third Parties provide in-person MVD services at more than 150 locations statewide. Wait times are typically very short or nonexistent at these locations, and many of these offices are open extended weekday hours, as well as weekends and holidays. In addition to appropriate MVD fees, a convenience fee will be collected by the third party for most transactions. Find a Third Party location near you.

How can I make my visit go as quickly as possible?

Make sure you bring all required documentation with you to conduct your specific transactions. If you're getting a driver license or identification card, fill out the Arizona Driver License/Identification Card application on the MVD website and save time in the office. Many transactions can be conducted without MVD staff assistance and with no wait using the Service Arizona self-service workstations, which are in most of the offices.
