Arizona-Sonora Border Infrastructure Master Plan (BIMP)

ADOT and FHWA are working with the state of Sonora, Mexico to update the Arizona-Sonora Border Infrastructure Master Plan.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), working collaboratively with State of Sonora, the Mexican federal agencies Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) and Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT), and several other local, state, and federal agencies in the United States and Mexico, have initiated the process to update the Arizona-Sonora Border Infrastructure Master Plan (BIMP). The original Border Master Plan was developed in 2012 and completed in February 2013.

The BIMP process will enable border stakeholders to consider the region’s needs for the future. The updated plan will include a list of prioritized Arizona-Sonora border-related infrastructure projects or studies that need to be developed, expanded, modernized or improved.
