New westbound I-10 lanes set to open at Orange Grove Road

New westbound Interstate 10 lanes are scheduled to open by Tuesday morning between Orange Grove and Ina roads in the northwest Tucson area as part of a larger project to improve safety and traffic

SR 73/SR 260 Intersection: Sidewalks & Lighting

Project Cost: $1.75 million

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the White Mountain Apache Tribe, is currently working on a safety improvement project at the intersection of State Route 73 and State Route 260 in Indian Pine. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2025.

Interstate 10, Salome Road to Tonopah Pavement Rehabilitation

The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is scheduled to begin a project to repair the pavement on Interstate 10 between Salome Road (milepost 80) and Tonopah (milepost 90) began in late March 2025.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at McQueen Road long-term closure begins June 12

The eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at McQueen Road will close at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound off-ramps at Cooper Road or Arizona Avenue.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Gilbert Road now open

The Arizona Department of Transportation reopened the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road June 11, following a weeks-long closure for reconstruction as part of the ongoing Santan Freeway widening project between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive.

LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES (Approximately 60 days):

Eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Arizona Avenue closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at Alma School or McQueen roads.

Westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at McQueen Road closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Sunday, May 11, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Cooper Road or Arizona Avenue.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Price Road closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Dobson or Alma School roads.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan ahead and expect delays as westbound I-10 will be closed between US 60 and I-17 from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, to 4 a.m. Monday

I-40 and I-17 Rest Area Truck Parking Project

Project cost: $18 million

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation initiated a new project to increase truck parking in rest areas along Interstate 40 and Interstate 17 in Arizona. The rest areas and approximate dates of construction include:
