New westbound Interstate 10 lanes are scheduled to open by Tuesday morning between Orange Grove and Ina roads in the northwest Tucson area as part of a larger project to improve safety and traffic

Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at Cooper Road now open

The Arizona Department of Transportation reopened the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Cooper Road in Chandler over the weekend following a weeks-long closure that allowed crews to reconstruct it as part of the ongoing Santan Freeway widening project between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive.

Upcoming Restrictions and Closures (May 15-19)

ARIZONA AVENUE

  • The westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Arizona Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound off-ramps at McQueen and Alma School roads as alternate routes.
  • Arizona Avenue will be CLOSED in both directions at the Loop 202 interchange from
    1 a.m. Saturday, May 17, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 19. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using Alma School or McQueen roads 

GILBERT ROAD

  • The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 19. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Lindsay and Cooper roads.

LINDSAY ROAD

  • The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Lindsay Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, May 15, to 5 a.m. Friday, May 16. The right two lanes of westbound Loop 202 also will be closed between Lindsay and Gilbert roads
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Gilbert or Cooper road as alternate routes.
  • The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Lindsay Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 17. The right two lanes of eastbound Loop 202 also will be closed between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at Gilbert Road or Val Vista Drive as alternate routes.

 

    LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES (Approximately 60 days):

    Westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at McQueen Road will close at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, May 11, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Cooper Road or Arizona Avenue. 

    Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Price Road to be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Dobson or Alma School roads.

    Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Gilbert Road closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads.

    Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Val Vista Drive to be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction as part of the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Santan Village Parkway or Lindsay Road.
