New highway safety project starting

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on State Route 95 in north Lake Havasu City to expect overnight lane restrictions and brief delays beginning Wednesday, July 9, as a new highway safety improvement project gets under way.

The restrictions are scheduled to remain in place through September.

The project will install 2.2 miles of raised center median between South Palo Verde Boulevard and Industrial Boulevard and from North Palo Verde Boulevard to Price Drive (mileposts 183 to 188).

The following restrictions will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday evenings through Friday mornings:

  • SR 95 will be narrowed to one lane between South Palo Verde Boulevard and Industrial Boulevard and from North Palo Verde Boulevard to Price Drive (mileposts 183 to 188).
  • A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.

Business access will be maintained during construction.

ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
