Westbound Interstate 10 to close between State Route 143 and I-17 (Sept. 13-16)

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan ahead and expect delays as westbound I-10 will be closed between SR 143 and I-17 from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, to 4 a.m. Monday

Though it’s no longer open to cars, the Walnut Canyon Bridge near Flagstaff has been standing for 100 years.

  • 75th Avenue will be narrowed to one through lane in each direction between Rose Garden Lane and Arrowhead Clubhouse Drive, including lane restrictions on the 75th Avenue bridge over Loop 101, through mid-April. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using 67th or 83rd avenues to access 75th Avenue via Deer Valley Road or Union Hills Drive.
    • Note: Some left turns will be restricted along 75th Avenue, and sidewalks may be closed intermittently.
  • 31st Avenue will be closed in both directions at Loop 101 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the following nights:
    • Tuesday, Feb. 3, until Friday morning, Feb. 6
    • Tuesday, Feb. 10, until Friday morning, Feb. 13
  • The westbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) will continue to be reduced to one lane between 35th and 51st avenues through 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.


    Reminder: Ongoing frontage road lane closures

  • The eastbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) is reduced to one lane between 37th and 35th avenues through mid-April.

    Upcoming eastbound Loop 101 closure
  • Eastbound Loop 101 will be closed at 51st Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, through 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 for bridgework.
    • The eastbound on-ramps at 59th, 67th and 75th avenues also will be closed.

LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES

  • The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 75th Avenue will close for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Jan 5.
    • Detour: Drivers may consider using the frontage road (Beardsley Road) or Union Hills Drive to 59th Avenue to access eastbound Loop 101.
       
  • The eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 67th Avenue will close for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11.
    • Detour:  Drivers may consider exiting at 75th Avenue and taking the frontage road (Beardsley Road) to 67th Avenue, or exiting at 59th Avenue.
       
  • The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 51st Avenue will close for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19.
    • Detour: Drivers may consider using the eastbound frontage road to access Loop 101 at 35th Avenue, or using eastbound on-ramp at 59th Avenue.
       
  • The eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 35th Avenue will close for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26. 
    • Detour: Drivers may consider exiting at 51st or 27th avenues.

New westbound I-10 lanes open Wednesday morning at Orange Grove Road

New westbound Interstate 10 lanes opened early Wednesday morning between Orange Grove and Ina roads in the northwest Tucson area as part of a larger project to improve safety and traffic flow.
