Proposed Projects - SR 88 (Apache Trail)

Arizona Department of Transportation and Tonto National Forest, is proposing improvements to a 11.16-mile, gravel section of SR 88 (Apache Trail) between milepost (MP) 229.2 near the Apache Lake Marina and MP 240.6 near the Theodore Roosevelt Dam.

The proposed improvements include applying an aggregate base and a chip seal pavement to an 11.16-mile section of the roadway. Improvements to sight distance in five spot locations would be completed to improve roadway safety.  In addition, the project would replace, repair, and/or extend culverts that are not currently functional or have been damaged by flood events within the project area.
