Programs and Partnerships

The Adopt a Highway program provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations or businesses to help keep our highways litter free.

The Sponsor Program allows Arizona businesses to contract through a preapproved maintenance provider to remove litter in the busier urban areas where more frequent removal is necessary.

The Arizona Department of Transportation Border Liaison Unit works together with the Motor Carrier Industry and provides multiple topic workshops and instructional classes to promote and ensure the safe efficient movement of people, goods and services through our southern international ports of entry while promoting compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Grand Canyon State Logo Signs is a program of the Arizona Department of Transportation that administers the daily operations of the Rural and Interstate Logo Sign Program. Logo signs provide guide information about certain businesses along state highways useful to the motoring public.

The Joint Project Agreement (JPA) within the Infrastructure Delivery and Operations Division (IDO), acting under the authority and requirements of ARS § 11-951 through § 11-954 and § 28-401, prepares written agreements when exercising joint powers common to political subdivisions of the state.

Local government provides services to counties, cities, towns and tribal governments in the areas of programming, technical planning, scheduling, engineering expertise, project documents and construction plan reviews/approvals, and coordinating with FHWA and appropriate ADOT groups/sections. A public-private partnership (P3) refers to the contractual agreement between a public agency and a private sector entity that allows the private sector entity to have greater participation in the delivery of a project.

Partnering is a process of collaborative teamwork. It allows groups to achieve measurable results by establishing a mission using common goals and shared objectives. ADOT partnering facilitators help build important pathways for professional communication.
