There is an impending federal change to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane exemptions. HOV lane usage by alternative fuel vehicles is regulated by 23 U.S.C. 166(b).  This federal law was enacted in 2005 and includes an expiration date of September 30, 2025.

PHOENIX – The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 are closed in Tempe.

The closure is due to a crash after Broadway Road.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek an alternate route. 

There is no estimated time to reopen the eastbound lanes. The westbound lanes are unaffected.

Plan for full closures on US 60 July 14-15

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers there will be no scheduled lane restrictions or road closures on US 60 east of Superior, between mileposts 227-243, from July 6-10.

Drivers should prepare for possible delays, slow down and stay alert

PHOENIX – While no construction closures are scheduled on state highways over Fourth of July weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers should prepare for heavier traffic at times and be ready in case of delays.

ADOT and its contractors will not schedule any full closures along state highways, including

  • The following on- and off-ramps will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly on these dates:
    • Thursday, July 2: Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 75th Avenue
    • Monday, July 6: Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 35th Avenue
    • Monday, July 6, through Friday morning, July 10: Eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 67th Avenue
    • Thursday, July 9: Loop 101 eastbound on-ramp at 67th Avenue
    • NEW: Friday

  • Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between McQueen and Lindsay roads from 10 p.m. Friday, July 10, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 13.
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using Pecos or Germann roads to reconnect with eastbound Loop 202 at Val Vista Drive.

Prepare for delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on Interstate 40 southwest of Kingman to expect daytime lane restrictions beginning Tuesday, May 28, through the end of October as crews replace the top pavement surface on a 14-mile segment of the interstate.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the southbound Loop 101  on-ramp at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard to be closed beginning at 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction as part of the current Loop 101 widening project.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for restrictions and delays on State Route 79 from the Fannin-McFarland Aqueduct at milepost 132 (north of Salazar Street) to Jason Lopez Circle at milepost 135 in Florence while crews perform a pavement improvement project.
