New highway safety project starting

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on State Route 95 in north Lake Havasu City to expect overnight lane restrictions and brief delays beginning Wednesday, July 9, as a new highway safety improvement project gets under way.

The restrictions are scheduled to remain in place through September.

There is an impending federal change to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane exemptions. HOV lane usage by alternative fuel vehicles is regulated by 23 U.S.C. 166(b).  This federal law was enacted in 2005 and includes an expiration date of September 30, 2025.

If Congress does not extend the exemption expiration date, owners of alternative fuel vehicles and vehicles with Energy Efficient plates

PHOENIX – The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 are closed in Tempe.

The closure is due to a crash after Broadway Road.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek an alternate route. 

There is no estimated time to reopen the eastbound lanes. The westbound lanes are unaffected.

Detour in place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following closures on US 60 for a bridge replacement project:

  • US 60 between Superior and Miami (mileposts 227-243) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5.

Detour: Eastbound US 60 drivers can use southbound State Route 177

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists that construction is underway on the US 93 Cane Springs Improvement project located north of Wikieup.

Crews will be working during the next several weeks to clear the work zone in preparation of mobilizing construction equipment to the area. Most of the construction will take place off of US 93 and will have limited impact to motorists

  • UPDATED: North- and southbound 75th Avenue will be closed between Aspera Boulevard and just south of Loop 101 from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 (updated). The east- and westbound Loop 101 off-ramps at 75th Avenue and the westbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) starting at 71st Avenue also will be closed during this time.

  • Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, to 12 p.m. Sunday, March 1
