Road Tests

Welcome! If you need to take your road test, you've come to the right place. Below is a guide to assist you in the process so you can be prepared and get one step closer to obtaining your driver license.

Preparing For Your Road Test

Before going into an MVD Office, you will need a few things such as:

  • A vehicle in good operating condition with valid registration and current liability insurance (out of country insurance is not acceptable)
  • A parent or legal guardian accompanying you (if under 18)
  • An instruction permit held for at least six months (or a passed written test if over 18)

Identification Cards for Children

ADOT recommends that all children have an Arizona ID Card.

  • An Arizona ID card with a photo enables law enforcement agencies to distribute your child's information and photograph in the event of an AMBER Alert (child abduction alert bulletin) more rapidly.
  • An Arizona ID card can help protect your child against identity theft.
  • Having an Arizona ID card can make it easier for your child to travel and enroll in school or activities.

A new photo will be needed as your child grows and changes.
