Phase 1 of construction to begin this summer

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation and its project partners will hold an in-person open house on June 17 to inform the public about the upcoming State Route 347 Improvement Project and what to expect during construction. Work is scheduled to begin this summer and will focus on pavement rehabilitation during the project’s first phase.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises Payson and Star Valley area drivers to plan for intermittent lane restrictions on State Route 260 as work begins on the widening project in the town of Star Valley between Mayfield Canyon Road and Forest Road.

The following traffic restrictions will be in effect when construction starts on Monday, June 8:

  • Intermittent daytime lane restrictions

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions on State Route 85 between Elota Avenue (milepost 42) and milepost 60 weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, June 15, through spring 2027 as a new pavement rehabilitation project gets underway in Ajo and Why.

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in conjunction with Pinal County, advises motorists traveling on Battaglia Drive in Arizona City to expect overnight alternating lane restrictions beginning Sunday, June 14, as a shoulder widening project gets underway.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), in cooperation with the City of Phoenix and the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), is studying I-10 between the Deck Park Tunnel (near downtown) and the “Split” interchange where I-10 meets I-17 near Sky Harbor Airport. The study also looks at nearby connections like SR 51 and Loop 202 because traffic in this area is all interconnected. See

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for delays along US 60 between Show Low and Springerville in the White Mountains area as a pavement project resumes work between State Route 61 and Wildcat Creek Thursday, May 28, after a winter hiatus.

Drivers should expect the following restrictions from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays:

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for lane restrictions on US 60 as final work on a passing lane project resumes along 3 miles of US 60 between Little Mormon Lake Road and Bell Spring on Monday, June 8, after a winter hiatus.

Drivers should expect the following restrictions to be in place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, through Wednesday, June 10:

US 60 (Grand Avenue) on-ramp at 27th Avenue scheduled to be closed May 26-27

Overnight lane restrictions along Thomas Road and 27th Avenue continue through May 29 

  • The US 60 westbound on-ramp at 27th Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, to 5 a.m. Thursday, May 28. 
    • Detour: Drivers may consider driving north on 27th Avenue to Indian School Road to access northbound US 60.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises Payson area drivers to plan for around-the-clock lane restrictions on State Route 87 at the State Route 260 junction as work continues on the SR 87 Payson Street Improvements project.

The following restrictions will be in place beginning 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, through 7 a.m. Thursday, May 21:

  • North- and southbound left-lane restrictions on SR

  • The inside left turn lanes at Thomas Road to north- and southbound Loop 101 will be closed for approximately 60 days beginning 5 a.m. Monday, June 8 (one turn lane will remain open). 
    • East- and westbound Thomas Road at Loop 101 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday nights while the long-term turn lane restrictions are in place beginning
